The opening ceremony, held at the Abd Saleh Air Force Base hangar in Malang, was attended by several high-ranking TNI AU officials, competition participants, and the media. The competition aims to hone the creativity of TNI AU members in the visual arts and strengthen relationships between units within the TNI AU.

Purpose and Significance of the 2025 Photography Competition

The 2025 Photography Competition was launched as part of the TNI AU’s efforts to develop the non-technical skills of its members, in addition to the military skills that are already a primary requirement. Colonel Pnb Adi Susanto stated that this activity aims to encourage TNI AU members to express their creativity through photography, which also showcases the humanistic side of the military profession.

“This competition is not just about winning, but also serves as a means to foster a sense of pride in our profession, highlight the positive aspects of the TNI AU, and strengthen bonds among members,” said Colonel Adi Susanto in his remarks.

He further stated that in today’s digital era, photography has become a highly effective form of communication for documenting various activities and important events. Through this competition, it is hoped that Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) members will become more familiar with and understand various photography techniques that can be applied in their daily lives, both in the work environment and outside of duty.

Competition Categories and Participants

The 2025 Photography Competition is open to all members of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), from all ranks and positions. Each participant can submit their best work in several categories determined by the committee, including:

Military Documentation Photography : Capture images depicting Indonesian Air Force operational activities, including training, routine activities, and special moments related to TNI AU duties.

Daily Life Photography of TNI AU Members : Photographic works that showcase the personal and human side of the lives of TNI AU members.

Nature Landscape Photography : Landscape photographs that showcase the beauty of the surrounding nature, especially those related to air and aircraft activities.

Creative Photography : A free category that allows participants to express their creative ideas in unique and original photographs.

In this event, participants are expected to demonstrate their creativity and technical skills in producing photographs that are not only aesthetic but also informative and reflect the values ​​upheld by the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), such as discipline, togetherness, and professionalism.
